When we first set out on the journey with Root Kitchen we wanted to develop a range of chef-prepared, frozen vegan meals to give people a convenient option when they don't have time to cook from scratch. Frozen food has many benefits, as the price point is often affordable and shelf life long making them the ideal option to have on hand for emergencies or when you don't have time to shop for groceries.
When Rishma was diagnosed with ME in late 2019, she wanted meals that were inexpensive, plant based and made from the best ingredients available. She spent ages looking for the perfect range at the right price and really struggled to find something that would meet her needs......Et Voila, the idea for Root Kitchen came to her one Sunday evening when she was batch cooking some meals ready for the week ahead.
